Mitsubishi Plans Launch of Small Mirage G4 Sedan in Canada

With gas prices around the world continuing to grow, many drivers are just looking for cars that will get them around town as inexpensively as possible. That especially holds true for today young consumers. Now an affordable option could be on the horizon thanks to our favorite Japanese automaker.

With the Detroit Auto Show wrapping up last week, many of the same companies simply popped across the border for the Montreal Auto Show in Canada. It is here that Mitsubishi has unveiled the new Mirage G4 sedan.

The Mirage G4 is a small four-door sedan that is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine and a CVT transmission. It won't have all the bells and whistles that many of the other automakers brag about but it will still have anti-lock brakes, keyless entry, power mirrors. Add that to a remarkable 37 mpg city, 44 mpg highway, and a $12,995 price tag and you have a car that sounds like a total bargain.

This model has been a hit in many Asian countries for several years, and with its debut in Montreal, Mitsubishi has announced plans to begin selling it in Canada with its eyes on an eventual U.S. launch. First the company needs to find out if this is a type of vehicle that North Americans will be able to fall in love with. We certainly think it will be.
